This book introduces you to transistor operation by first explaining the operation of the P-N junction. Thus, the transition is made from semiconductor physics to the actual transistor circuits. Basic amplifiers and oscillators are discussed, with the emphasis on fundamentals. A chapter is included to cover some 'recent' important semiconductor advances: the zener diode, unijunction transistor, silicon controlled rectifier, and field-effect transistor.
